Don't Break
Have u ever seen bamboo trees bend under pressure from the wind? Then u must have noticed them return gracefully to their upright or original position after the wind had died down. When I think about the bamboo tree's ability to bounce back or return to it's original position, the word resilience comes to mind. When used in reference to a person this word means the ability to readily recover from shock, depression or any other situation that stretches the limits of a person's emotions.
Have you ever felt like you are about to snap Have you ever felt like you are at your breaking point Thankfully, you have survived the experience to live to talk about it. During the experience you probably felt a mix of emotions that threatened your health. You felt emotionally drained, mentally exhausted and you most likely endured unpleasant physical symptoms. Life is a mixture of good times and bad times, happy moments and unhappy moments. The next time you are experiencing one of those bad times or unhappy moments that take you close to your breaking point bend but don't break. Try your best not to let the situation get the best of you.
I so agree. I have seen those times, i nearly broke. but I bend till th wind itself began to support me, and was back in a few hours.
ReplyDeletenice post though..:)
When life, in particular, is at stake, you tend to do anything...just anything...rights and wrongs lose their significance...and yes hope is the prop of life...we fight, we live;we fight, we live; we fight, we live...oops lagta hai zyada ho aya...lol
ReplyDeletehey lovely one... i have gone throught it some many no of times in life that it has become like a habit for me... something i would say is the most important character in the todays's stressful world...
ReplyDeletePS: BTW there couldn't have been a better time for the post to come... today is just one of these days in office
very well written n well express idea ..I m sure every feel the depression but there no big deal in feeling sad ..what is Big is to feel happy ..even if u know u r at the verge of breakdown :)
ReplyDeletei love the relative example of banboo shoot :)
n i m blorolling u
samiran.. I am thinking what made you to write this one. I always think this whenever i read some blog entry and as I know you so well[atleast i used to], i am taking the liberty of coming to conclusion.. It is not the pain but the joy which made you write this one. :D
ReplyDeletei too think like as u do.. bend but do not break but sometime it seems it is not totally correct. As u say, there is always some exceptional cases.
kis newspaper ka editiorial likhne wala hai tu... pehle hi bata dena
You know why its so hard for the wind to break the bamboo shoots ?
ReplyDeleteBecause they stand in groups. And all of them can stand the wind better together.
When pressure makes u bend, lean on your friends. They can put you back to shape in no time :).
Now for the criticism : ;)
Language couldd have been better. You probably need to read more literature. And dont use "u" in a serious blog. Use the spellchecker to catch them.
Hmm...I wonder(Hope that you know about what)!!!!!
ReplyDeleteAn inspiring post to say the least!! it certailnly has inspired me to go ahead and learn this art(I'd prefer to call it art!!).
But, whom can I learn from because i haven't come across any person who has come across this kind of a breaking ordeal and if some one has gone through that kind of an ordeal, then he certaily has not shared it with others.
My point, here is that every one likes to read and write about such inspiring things, but how many actually follow what they preach!!!
Nothing against you!!
By the way when was the last time that you faced a similar situation. I'd love to see how you behaved in such a situation!!
the master if the game is back again with a peice.. well coming directly to the point.. pros.. good concept, really good thought to ponder upon, the comprehensiveness and the crispness..
ReplyDeletebut what id probably say here is that there is a tradeoff between the excessive crispness leading to lack of literary quality.. and considering ur previous posts and ur potential as a writer.. id say go for a little bit more. a serious post like this needs aa bit more in terms of content...
while im a strong supporter of individualism and literary freedom, beacause no matter what ne one writes as a comment, it is actually a piece of art that a writer creates. like giving shape to a pot on the rotating wheel, its ur baby... well i d say a gr8 post and a wonderful topic... and well written... perhaps i think this is one of those sams tactics of teasing readers with a thirts for the next post... hahah... tc buddy and keep writing...
dear,It's a simple expression of a serious thought.
ReplyDeletebut it's hard to put it in practical. It takes time to be in original position.
The intensity depends on how much we desire, how passionate we are...........
when we were children , we used to cry for things.suddenly we forget
things,indulging in plays.
But grown up people lack this quality only because the lack of people who can love them, care them,
understand them,console them,inspire
them and so on.......this is the serious
situation that the world actually faces
why don u write new post
ReplyDeletewell said :)
ReplyDeleteby nature, bamboos are strong...
ReplyDeleteso mabbe they spring back....
but i am reminded of banana trees.Even if they are uprooted, a new banana sapling emerges from the same place....fascinating, isn't it?
Man u write really great..very few people have the audacity to pen down down what they thing..life me I have so many things in mind but cant write them..probabl due to laziness or fear of getting outcasted...lol..
ReplyDeletekeep up the good work...
